Library Services

Even though University Center does not have on-site Library facilities, there are several different ways that student's can access resources at their home school's library.

Librarian Assistance

Steve Johnson, USD Librarian, has office hours on Wednesdays in the Resource and Testing Center. He can assist in paper research, questions about searches on the school library pages, and Interlibrary Loans. If Steve is unavailable, the Testing and Resource Center staff can assist you with your questions.

Interlibrary Loans

Inter-Library Loan (ILL) is a borrowing system designed by universities to allow students the ability to conduct quality research, even if the materials are unavailable to them at their home library. At University Center, this program serves a critical function. If the book you need for your paper is at one of the main campuses, you can get that book even if you are not a student at that institution. The Resource and Testing Center serves as a pick-up/drop-off point for Interlibrary Loan materials from the state universities.

Course Materials on Reserve

Reserve items are books and other materials available to students for informational purposes. We have materials covering a wide variety of study guides and informational books to help you along your scholastic journey. Faculty will also place items on reserve for students to check out for their class. Course materials placed on reserve can be checked out by visiting the Resource and Testing Center.
