We are pleased to tell you
that the new classroom
building at University North should be done in
time for the Spring 2009 Semester. We have all been looking forward to this new
addtion for a long time, and
it is exciting to be nearing
completion.
Work is progressing on the building and the schedule remains very tight. As of
now,we project to have full
access to second floor by
December 15 and full
completion of the classroom building by January 12. If these
dates are met, we should
begin the spring semester
with classes in the new
building.
However, it is very clear
that there will be a mad
rush to get the classrooms
ready for faculty and
students. That is our #1
priority. There is very little |
flex in the schedule and
our technology consultants
and furnishing vendors will
be working feverishly over
the break to get things ready.
We continue to monitor
progress to determine if we
need to make alternative
plans for starting the
semester. Contingency
planning is underway, but
if all goes well we will not
have to implement the
contingency.
We appreciate your patience
as we execute all of the little
details that come along with
a project like this. As the
start of classes for spring
semester nears, we will
keep you iformed. Please
remember to check your
class schedule for which
building your class will be located in. Classes held in
the current building will be designated as UCS (University
Center South) and classes in
the new building will be |
designated as UCN
(University Center North).
The Academic and
Student Services office
- which includes UC
advisors and financial aid
- will move to UC North
sometime after Spring
Semester classes
have started. You will
meet with your advisor
for Spring registration
in the current location.
Staff will be at UC South
through the start of
classes to assist with
anything you need for the new semester.
The Business Office will
be moving to UC North
after the start of the
Spring Semester.The
Bookstore and the
Resource and Testing Center will both
remain in their current
locations at UC South.
