Welcome Message
Spring 2010 Semester
We continue to grow and expand our program offerings to meet the demands of you - our students - and of the Sioux Falls community.  Some of the new programs that we have recently added include an accelerated/hybrid A.S. in Business Management; a Master's in Counseling, with specialization tracks offered from both USD and SDSU; a professional Master's in Business Administration program (pMBA) from USD; an A.A. in Applied Gerontology from NSU, and an A.S. in Network and System Administration from DSU.  Remember, all the A.A. and A.S. degrees at University Center articulate directly toward a Bachelor's degree.  We are excited to have these new degrees available at University Center - bringing our total to 67 state university degrees available fully in Sioux Falls!

The state of our national economy remains in the news headlines, and we understand that these stories affect us locally as well.  You may face challenges in financing your education, but it will be well worth it when you earn your degree!  We encourage you to look for ways to fund your education through tax credits, scholarships, grants, the new GI Bill, and/or your employer.

We have several scholarships that are available specifically for University Center students, and there are many more scholarships that are sponsored by local businesses for students in the Sioux Falls community.  Another improvement in financial aid for students comes in the form of the Economic Stimulus Bill of 2009.  Through the American Opportunity tax credit, you could receive up to $2,500 per year to cover your higher education expenses.  Check the Financial Aid section of our website for information on both the tax credit and applying for scholarships.  Or, contact Vikki Van Hull in the Financial Aid office.

Sincerely,

                                                                                   Mark Lee

                                                                                   Executive Dean
