I earned a BS degree in Psychology w/English (2002) and a Master's degree in Counseling and Psychology in Education (2006) from The University of South Dakota. While completing my MA degree, I started working with students in an advisory capacity at University Center in October 2005. I enjoy working at University Center because I have the opportunity to work with people who wish to use education to grow and develop personally with the overarching goal of becoming a meaningful contributor to society.
Summer works in Academics & Student Services and enjoys interacting with all of the students who come through the doors. Summer and her husband Chad moved to Sioux Falls a few years ago, but most weekends she returns to her West River hometown to help on the farm and spend time with family.
Nicole Dulaney is an Academic Advisor working primarily with SDSU and USD students at UC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from USD and a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development from SDSU. Nicole has been with University Center since November, 2011.
Alan is responsible for University Center's admission and recruitment activities by meeting with prospective students and developing relationships with area businesses and organizations. He has worked in higher education for more than a decade and has been with University Center since 2008.
Jill enjoys assisting future students with the admission process at UC. She lives in Sioux Falls with her husband Chris and her spoiled Pomeranian. Jill loves shopping - especially for shoes.
I am primarily assigned to SDSU students attending at University Center. I obtained my Bachelors in Science degree in Business from Bemidji State University in 2005 and subsequently earned my MBA from Colorado Technical State University in 2010. I have a 2-year-old daughter named Arden and enjoy spending time with her and my wife. I welcome the mentorship opportunities that my position affords me at University Center; helping students develop into career and academic aspirations is what I enjoy most about my work at University Center.
Vikki is the primary contact for students at UC seeking assistance in applying for financial aid and scholarships. She has 15 years of experience in Financial Aid.
Tom Petersen works on the Information Technology team at University Center. He has more than 20 years of experience working in this field and has been with University Center since 2009.
Nicole A. Graves is a South Dakota State University faculty member in the Department of Counseling and Human Development. She teaches Human Development and Family Studies courses at University Center. In addition to her responsibilities as HDFS program coordinator, she also advises SDSU students majoring in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), Early Childhood Education (ECE, B-5 specialization), and Consumer Affairs (CA) at UC.
Melody Jewell is responsible for teaching the Chemistry 106 lectures and other 100-level chemistry lectures and labs. She graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 2002 and has been teaching at University Center since 2003. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, playing with her golden retriever Bailey and watching Gopher football.

Jamie Ladonski has taught biology courses at University Center since 2006. Prior to coming to UC, he worked at the Field Museum in Chicago for over five years, assisting with management of the Museum’s zoology research collections.
Melinda Obach has been teaching introductory English courses for USD since 2006. She is a published poet and loves to read, haunt thrift stores, and be outdoors.
Jennie Doyen is responsible for University Center’s marketing and advertising, brand management, and public relations. She has more than a decade of experience in communications and marketing and has been with University Center since 2008.
Dr. Mark Lee is a three time graduate of the University of South Dakota, where he earned his bachelors degree, MBA and Ed.D. He has served the South Dakota Regental system for 26 years beginning in the areas of financial management including 10 years as vice president for administration. Dr. Lee was named Executive Dean at University Center in 2001.
Hillary Westerhuis is the academic advisor for all pre-nursing and nursing majors (standard and accelerated) students seeking their SDSU BSN through the SF/University Center site. She also teaches a nursing freshman seminar course which is required of all nursing students. Hillary is married with two children and has worked as a professional academic advisor since 2004.
James Clem, Pharm.D. is the Department Head for the Department of Pharmacy Practice at South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa and has been with the SDSU College of Pharmacy since 1992.
Jodi Heins, Pharm.D. is the Assistant Department Head for the Department of Pharmacy Practice at South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy and has been with SDSU College of Pharmacy since 1994.
Linda Kraft is the Senior Secretary for SDSU Pharmacy Practice at the UC. She joined the pharmacy department in August 2011. She previously worked in the District Office of SDSU Cooperative Extension.
She has a Masters in English and also teaches high school English on line in her spare time.
Beth leads the Praire Family Business Association, working with business owning families and professional advisors in the areas of family communication, business development and family ownership. Beth holds a B.S. in Music Therapy from the University of Minnesota and has eighteen years of experience in sales, management and management training with the United States Chamber of Commerce. She received her certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute in 2004. Beth and her husband Dale have four children and four grandchildren.
