In addition to our regular support staff, University Center houses faculty and staff for the SDSU nursing and pharmacy programs. University Center is seeking to hire a Chemistry Tutor to provide supplemental instruction and support to University Center students attending CHEM 106/108/112/114. Tutors at University Center are an essential partner in helping students to succeed and develop study skills.
Tutoring would take place on the University Center Sioux Falls location. Applicants must have good communication and organizational skills, knowledge of the content area and capable of effectively assisting a variety of students. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours. The rate of pay is $8.56/hr with a maximum of 5 hours a week.

Academic and Career Advisor
The University Center in Sioux Falls is seeking a people-oriented, self-motivated individual as an Academic Advisor. We are seeking applicants with strong interpersonal skills who are organized; detail oriented, can work independently and cooperatively as a team member.
Master's degree and student services experience preferred. Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience in higher education required.
This position requires a strong student center philosophy and general understanding of student development theory and best practices. Valid Driver's License required.
Provide resources, guidance, support and assistance to students in the development of meaningful educational plans that are consistent with career and life goals, as well as academic abilities. Provide students with academic support services; assist students to determine academic goals; develop and conduct orientation program; coordinate placement testing; monitor student progress; maintain records in accordance with policy. Serve as the career resource person in collaboration with Career Center staff on the main campuses. Assist with general delivery, development and assessment of UC student services. Assist with student orientation sessions, special events and testing services. Salary commensurate with qualifications.

Custodial - Building Manager
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (subject to change)
Salary: $10.90 - $13.63 per hour, plus benefits.
This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the University Center buildings and facilities. Performs routine, custodial duties to ensure the overall facility and surrounding grounds are maintained. Must be able to work in a team environment with different individuals. This is a fast paced environment with the need for a proactive attitude and good customer service skills. Must possess knowledge of light custodial and janitorial duties.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
1. Clean and sanitize restrooms
2. Collect and remove refuse from offices and buildings
3. Dusting, mopping, wiping, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, waxing, scrubbing, polishing
4. This position may also prepare surfaces for finishing, sealers and wax.
5. Set up equipment for special events
6. Remove ice, snow, and debris from sidewalks
7. This position may also move, lift, carry and/or arrange furniture, equipment, and other objects.
8. Report security problems and hazardous conditions
9. Maintain inventory of supplies
10. May be asked to train new workers, supervise part-time staff by directing and inspecting work.
11. Other work as assigned
Ability to work outside in all types of weather, work at heights, and includes but not limited to bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, balance, climbing, squatting/sitting, twisting, grasping, crawling. Reach at various levels from floor to overhead. Ability to move/manipulate/carry up to 50 lbs. Employee schedule will be determined by Physical Plant Manager to meet the needs of the facility. Employee must be able to work a variety of hours, this to possibly include on call, overtime, weekends or as needed. Hours are subject to change at Plant Managers discretion.
