The student is responsible for contacting and informing the university/universities where he/she is taking classes of his/her intentions. In most instances the student will be required to come to the Sioux Falls office and put the request in writing as the student's signature is needed.
If a student drops a class before the drop/add date, which is set each semester and can be found in the Class Schedule, the student will receive a full refund. If a student drops a class after that drop/add date, there may not be a refund. Students should contact the University Center office or check the Class Schedule for each semester's date.
For a student to withdraw, a student cannot be taking any classes from any of the South Dakota public universities. In other words, the student is withdrawing from the public higher education system in South Dakota, not just from one of the universities. Students who withdraw may receive a partial refund which is based on the actual date of withdrawal.
