University Center Prepares for the Future
We at University Center are excited about the new developments with our new facilities and a new partnership with the Sioux Falls Community. University Center recently announced that Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center made a $500,000 investment in University Center. The money is considered an investment in generations of future University Center students and health care professionals to serve the community and the region.
The investment from Avera McKennan represents the first public/private partnership of its kind for University Center and will be directed to the building of a high technology 125 seat lecture hall plus support for programs and scholarships.
The new University Center campus, which will be available in Spring 2009, will serve students in every stage of professional development as they pursue academic achievement and become valuable resources to the community and the region. University Center will develop the professionals needed in the business sector and the health care industry as well as continuing education and development.
Fall 2007 showed a record number of students attending University Center who will comprise the intellectual capital needed to support and foster the growth of the local economy. And, Spring 2008 was even larger in terms of headcount.
Our mission is to meet the broad educational needs of the community through a variety of academic programs and delivery methods. At the core of our mission is student success.
