Plan for a Future that Fits You
University Center has joined forces with FOCUS-2 to bring you a new online, self-guided, interactive program designed to help you select the right college major and plan your career based on your personal interests, values, skills, personality, and aspirations.
First time users see below for instructions
A Powerful Tool for You
If you are just starting your academic career, FOCUS-2 can help you select majors and consolidate career goals. If you are nearing completion of your degree, FOCUS-2 can help you plan your job and/or graduate school search.
Once you have an understanding of your interests, personality, and skills, you can use FOCUS-2 to research potential careers, including educational requirements and salary information. You can also complete a side-by-side comparison of careers.
FOCUS-2 features sections for Self-Assessment, Academic Strengths, Career Readiness and Explore the Possibilities. You may choose to use all of these sections, or just pick the ones you need right now. You can even combine the results of multiple assessments to see how all of your results work together. This will generate a list of occupations related to your results.
If you would like, you can consolidate all of your reports into a portfolio in the Personal Portfolio section. If you would like to discuss your results with an academic advisor, please print your completed reports and contact us to schedule an appointment.
Information for First-Time Users:
To create a new user account, first click on the Login button below. On the new screen, click on the "New User? Click here to get started" icon.
Enter the FOCUS-2 access code career. Then decide on your own username and password for future use.
You can choose to work on sections that are specific to your needs – Self-Assessment, Academic Strengths, Career Readiness, etc. You do not have to complete every section.
You can exit and return to the program at any time. Each section takes 10 to 15 minutes; the whole program takes about 2 hours to complete.
If you need help using FOCUS-2, or would like to discuss your results with an advisor, please email Academic Advising or call 367-5640 to make an appointment with Nicole or Jennifer.
