Nominate a Student of the Month
Do you know a student attending courses at University Center who demonstrates qualities such as character, leadership, and citizenship? The nominee should be a diligent student who shows a strong effort in learning by being prepared for class and showing good/healthy classroom participation. The nominated student should also demonstrate excellent behavior in and out of the classroom, is well-mannered, and respectful to both peers and instructors; displays excellent citizenship by working together with classmates in a cooperative attitude, and exhibiting good behavior. Leadership qualities and serving as role models in their communities; demonstrating exemplar character through his/her compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, and optimism. Other criteria examined are as follows:
Respect: Shows respect toward others: acts of kindness that have made difference in another person’s life including other students and member of the UC community, embraces the differences/diversity among UC students and faculty.
Academic Improvement: Is exemplary and/or shows marked improvement in the classroom.
Community Involvement: Shows active involvement in his/her community by being apart of various organizations (volunteer or UC involvement in organizations).
Personal Achievement/Obstacles: Has overcome personal obstacles.
NOTE: Any UC student, faculty or staff member may nominate a qualifying UC student whom they feel meets the criteria. An awarded student will be contacted to obtain a photo to be on display in the Success Center for one month, posted in the Weekly Buzz (Newsletter). The awarded student will receive a Parking Pass to park in any available visitor parking spot not specifically reserved for other entities (State vehicles or Handicap).
