A degree in Business Administration from an institution accredited by AACSB International, the highest standard of achievement for business schools, will give you the leadership, knowledge and experience necessary to reach your career goals. The Business Administration degree is divided into five program areas including Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing.
Accounting- Accounting is essential in every sector from civic organizations to non-profits to Fortune 500 companies. Accounting students will learn to think critically, exchange ideas and understand regulations in earning their degree. General accounting, audit, tax, financial planning and management consulting skills will be taught to students.
Economics- Exploring how choice and decision affect business markets is the focus of USD's Economics emphasis. Students will learn to weigh costs and benefits in legal, industrial, financial, governmental and educational settings. Pursing this degree could lead to careers such as a state and federal government economist, city or urban planner or an economic planner.
Finance- Business decisions often hinge on the numbers, and students completing a finance degree will be able to interpret information and guide important decisions in their organizations. The finance emphasis will allow students to explore corporate finance, investments, financial planning, portfolio management, banking and mergers and acquisitions. Insurance, real estate, security analysis and international finance will also be covered.
Management- Completing a management emphasis at USD will help students learn how to capitalize on a company's greatest asset – people. Learning the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage employees will be vital to the success of your organization.
Marketing- Students pursuing a marketing emphasis will learn to manage customer relationships. They will gain the skills necessary to create new products, research customer behavior along with promoting, pricing and distributing products and services.
