2019 Fall Faculty Orientation (TBD) (Click Here)
Before the start of Fall Semester, UC-SF holds a Faculty Orientation that covers a variety of important topics related to your joining the UC learning community! One important and valuable addition is the opportunity for faculty to meet new and current students; there will be food provided along with information on Title IX, D2L, etc. This event is a great opportunity for you to get to know your colleagues, find out about resources available to you as a faculty member at UC-SF and ask questions! Look for an RSVP message sent to your inbox so that we can plan enough food/drink for everyone or click Faculty Orientation RSVP today to let us know you are planning to be there!
Faculty Meetings
Throughout each semester, there are faculty meetings arranged for UC-based faculty (full/part-time); however, all who teach are welcome to attend. A large array of topics are covered with the express goal of ensuring strong communication between faculty, staff, and partner universities.

Your course syllabi is a legal contract between your course and your students and bridges the SDBOR policy to you and the students enrolled in your courses. Please review the SDBOR Policy on Syllabus Standards and Standardization. Also, make note of the ADA Compliance Statement and place this statement into your syllabi if you haven't alreadyu done so. As a faculty member of University Center, you can provide your office hours via the Faculty Office Hours Template. Once your syllabi and office hours are finalized and complete, send to Aaron Anthony at [email protected]
Student Opinion Surveys (Campus Labs)
At the end of each term, Student Opinion Surveys are deployed to students across campus. These surveys are based on IDEA (http://www.ideaedu.org/) and administered through Campus Labs (https://www.campuslabs.com/). Student Opinion Surveys must be administered to students prior to finals. Therefore, faculty members typically receive the link to the surveys three weeks before the end of the term. This leaves two weeks of administration of the survey and one week for finals (when surveys are closed). If the class is shorter than normal, this timetable is slightly accelerated. There are three different types of surveys, which are administered based on the type of class:
IDEA Learning Essentials: the most common survey, issued to classes with more than 5 students
Locally Developed Survey: administered to classes with less than 5 students and/or performance classes that are dissimilar to typical lecture classes
When you receive the IDEA surveys, you will need to select the objectives you want to measure in the survey. When you receive the Locally Developed, you do not need to select objectives.

Need Printing Done or Copies?
Copies can be made for your class with a 1 day advance notice for small jobs (no more than 50 pages) and 2 days for large jobs (over 50 pages); send the request via the form below and upload the document(s) that you need copied/printed; see UC Copy Request Form. If you are doing your own copying, please utilize the copiers in FADM Room 127 or FSC1 221 using your university assigned copy code.
Do You Have a Work Related Meeting Off-Site?
At University Center, we have a fleet of SD State Vehicles available for use related to official state business/work. Also, with our location, we are close to the SD Department of Transportation allowing for easy re-fueling. At University Center we are always looking for ways to support student success! Visit Tutoring for information, a schedule, and for supplemental support for your students! Student Opinion Surveys
Title IX SDBOR Policy
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities operated by recipients of Federal financial assistance. Sexual harassment of students, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX. Sexual harassment is unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature. It includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Sexual violence is a form of sexual harassment prohibited by Title IX. See SDBOR Policy 1:17 and below for specific detail on this policy as it relates to all universities governed by the SDBOR:
