B.S./B.A. Criminal Justice is an interdisciplinary study of crime and justice in our society and emphasizes the key components of police, courts, corrections, and juvenile justice in the criminal justice processes of our local, state, and federal governments. Beyond the basic required courses, students can pursue advanced courses in many areas, including the historical, international, social science, and legal facets of criminal justice studies. B.S. Human Development & Family Studies focuses on human development, behavior and relationships throughout the lifespan. Human Development & Family Studies	Associate	SDSU	Social Sciences
The Human Development and Family Services program involves the study of lifespan development in the context of family, community and society. The Human Development and Family Services major prepares students for careers assisting prevention specialists, advocates, and educators working with children and families. Graduates will be employable in schools, hospitals, clinics, childcare facilities, and non-profit organizations. Completion of the AS Human Development and Family Services degree will allow students to transfer 60 credits of coursework into the BS in Human Development and Family Studies. Student Learning Outcomes Graduates with a major in Human Development and Human Services will be able to: identify and describe development across the lifespan for both individuals and families. recognize and explain societal issues that impact individuals, families, and communities. demonstrate an appreciation and respect for diversity. demonstrate ethical helping skills/human service skills. analyze parental involvement and the stages of human development. recognize and assess individual and family strengths and needs. Academic Requirements Students must receive a C or better grade in all HDFS prefix courses. Course Delivery Format The program is offered at the University Center – Sioux Falls campus with courses delivered face-to-face and online. Psychology	Bachelor	SDSU	Social Sciences
B.S. Psychology provides students with a foundation education for careers in mental health, social service settings, behavioral health care, and youth correction facilities. B.S. Sociology is a broad field which includes the study of cultures and how groups of people function within society. Career opportunities for the sociologists include careers in social service, human resources, criminal justice agencies, government, community planning, and jobs working with the elderly, youth and families at risk, and victims of domestic violence. Nearly 20% of all ballots cast in South Dakota are done by Absentee voting. Any registered South Dakota voter can vote an absentee ballot by mail or in-person. Let’s increase the number of 18-30 year-old students who go out and vote!

Fall 2016 Last Day to Withdraw (NO REFUND) or Drop A Class

11/4/2016 is the last day that a student can withdraw (NO PARTIAL or FULL REFUND) completely from all classes and/or drop a single class. In order to withdraw, a student must drop all the full semester (16 week) courses for which they are registered.
