Considering taking the ACT?
While University Center is not an ACT Test site, we are providing the following information to students who need to take or are considering taking the ACT Test. If you have additional questions about the ACT or Admissions, please contact the Admissions Department.
Who Needs to Take the ACT Exam?
If you are applying to a degree program and are age 21 or younger at the start of the term to which you are applying, you must complete a college entrance examination (ACT or SAT). Then, your results must be sent to the university to which you are applying or the Enrollment Service Center of that school. If ACT or SAT scores are listed on your High School Transcript, it is not necessary to request the scores from the testing agency. See Admission Requirements.
Residual ACT Exam versus the National ACT Exam
An on-campus or "residual" ACT test option is available to students who were unable to test on a National ACT exam test date. ACT Residual Testing is strictly limited only to students who are seeking admission or have officially applied to one of the SDBOR institutions. Scores from Residual Testing are reported only to the institution of choice for admission, course placement and advising purposes. This exam can be taken at any time at the main campus location. The National ACT Exam scores are also used for South Dakota admission purposes; however, the test is limited to only a few times a year and registration must be done in advance.
