The Bachelor of General Studies degree is intended to accommodate students with a variety of career goals.  It is an important option for students who have accumulated significant college credit and who want to complete a baccalaureate degree. But, it is also a viable choice for students who are interested in building their own degree program, to coincide with their career plans and interests. Students are required to complete general education requirements plus 45 credits in three areas of emphasis (15 credits in each area) selected by the student: allied health, business, education, fine arts, humanities, social sciences, wellness, technology and other STEM disciplines (science, engineering, math). Specific coursework in the three areas of emphasis is selected by the student; additional credits for graduation can be selected from any discipline.

 

Bachelor of Business Administration – Administration prepares students to become capable business managers that can detect and even anticipate changes in the business environment, understand the changes they see, and develop effective strategies to cope with these changes.

Bachelor of Business Administration – Finance prepares students for a dynamic, exciting career in the world of business. Finance majors may choose from a variety of career paths including corporate finance, investments, financial planning, portfolio management, banking, mergers and acquisitions, insurance, real estate, security analysis, and international finance.

B.S./B.A. Criminal Justice is an interdisciplinary study of crime and justice in our society and emphasizes the key components of police, courts, corrections, and juvenile justice in the criminal justice processes of our local, state, and federal governments. Beyond the basic required courses, students can pursue advanced courses in many areas, including the historical, international, social science, and legal facets of criminal justice studies.

 

B.S. Health Sciences is a dynamic major that is interdisciplinary in nature and provides flexible options that allow students to prepare for many kinds of careers related to health. The major provides the opportunity for students with a general but unfocused interest in the health professions to explore the many opportunities in the field and to develop the knowledge, values and interpersonal skills needed to be successful in today's health and human service settings. The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences will qualify students for entry into graduate programs in a specific health profession, entry-level employment in health care or health care related positions and educational mobility for individuals who wish to advance their education.

 

Master of Science in Administration – Alcohol and Drug Studies Specialization is a cross-disciplinary program that provides the primary tools and organizational skills necessary to more effectively perform administrative roles. The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies specialization provides theoretical knowledge regarding the nature, etiology, prevention, and treatment of alcohol and other drug issues and provides a multidisciplinary approach for career opportunities.

Master of Science in Administration – Human Resources Specialization is a cross-disciplinary program that provides the primary tools and organizational skills necessary to more effectively perform administrative roles. The Human Resources option provides education in supervision of personnel, leadership, and human resource management.

Master of Science in Administration – Long-Term Care Administration Specialization is a cross-disciplinary program provides the primary tools and organizational skills necessary to more effectively perform administrative roles. The Long-Term Care Administration Specialization helps build a career that offers security, status, high income, and most importantly, the satisfaction of helping others.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Hybrid Delivery – The purpose of the Hybrid MBA program is to develop current and future leaders for business, industry and government, and to encourage those students who have an interest in teaching at the college level and an aptitude for an academic career to continue their work at the doctoral level. The emphases in this program are deci­sion making, problem solving, understanding the role of business in society, and developing leadership ability and social responsibility to progress to positions of executive responsibility.
